Barenthal Flatware

The Barenthal manufacturing company was started in 1947 by Eugène Schall in France, specializing in the manufacture of forks and spoons for the hotel trade. By 1954 they employed more than 130 people and devoted nearly 75% of their production to the hotel market. In 1986 the Barenthal trademark was created for the distribution of their high-end Silver Plate and 18/10 Stainless Steel Barenthal flatware collections. This is when they integrated a bear, the symbol of the village of Barenthal, into their logo. By 1998 they had solidified their reputation for the quality of the Barenthal flatware collections as well as the originality and creativity that characterize their products, and were the number two producer of flatware in France. In 2003 Barenthal was purchased by a Sino-American company that now produces many of the original Barenthal designs in their world class manufacturing facilities in China.

RSS Distributors is currently offering a number of Barenthal patterns in 18/10 or 18/8 stainless steel, and with a Gold-Plated finish. 18/10 stainless steel is generally considered to be the finest quality steel for flatware and all Barenthal patterns have a mirror finished, highly polished surface that holds up very well to daily use. The chrome/nickel alloy creates a smooth and hard surface which will keep your flatware like new for many years.

The Barenthal brand has been well known and respected in fine dining for years in France and throughout Europe. Now the creativity and timeless design that customers have come to expect from Barenthal flatware is available to the American market.
